Youth Entrepreneurship and Sports Development comissioner, Ogbuefi Tony Nnacheta has urged the youths of Ndi Anambra to maintain high standard of behaviour and strive to be good citizens of Anambra.
The Commissioner stated this when he presented certificates of recognition to some youth organizations in the state ;like “Amanuke Youth Progressive Union” (AYPU), “Talented Anambrarians Association” (TAA) and “Ezinator Youths”. The Commissioner stressed the need for the members of these associations to be of good character and to shun all acts and persons capable of leading them astray.
In his remark, the Director for Youth Development, Mr. Greg Onugbolu, asked the youth organizations to partner with government in their various activities and to keep the government informed of all their events from time to time to achieve greater synergy and effectiveness.
Responding on behalf of the recipients, Mr. Okolo Chinedu Godspower, President of Amanuke Youth Progressive Union, thanked the Commissioner and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for recognizing the and pledged to hold fast to the noble objectives of their organization.
In their separate interviews, Messrs Sebastian Nwafor and Okolo Chinedu, spokesperson s for the Ezinator Youths and Amanuke Youth Progressive Union (AYPU) respectively, reiterated their commitment towards bringing the policies and programmes of government nearer to the youths, promoting empowerment as well as curbing youth restiveness and other vices in their areas, asking the the government to improve on the social amenities in their areas.
Highlights on the event includes the presentation of certificates to the various youth organizations.
